Complaints
FSC members must adhere to the FSC Code of Conduct. FSC members are able report a breach of the FSC Code of Conduct here.
If you have a complaint about a financial services product or service or have a complaint about your financial services provider, please contact your provider directly and follow their complaints process. This process includes the ability to escalate your complaint to a financial dispute resolution scheme, an independent organisation that resolves disputes between consumers and providers.
Insurance companies, banks and financial advisers are required by the Financial Service Providers (Registration and Dispute Resolution) Act to belong to a dispute resolution scheme. If your complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, you can take your complaint to the dispute resolution scheme.
There are a number of dispute resolution schemes and the company or adviser will tell you which scheme they belong to.
